On the eastern side of the island lies a sophisticated neoclassical building that houses the actual works of the sculptor Perantinos. Born in Athens, with a degree in Fine Arts, in Paris he won many awards in the area of sculpture with works that were simple and realistic, and also in the area of metal-work. After his death, in 1991, the museum started operating, presenting sculptures, drawings and information about the artist’s work. Among the important work of the sculptor and teacher was the operation of the 1974 summer school Marmarotechnikis, thus helping continue the tradition of sculpture in Paros.
