One of the best things about Paros & Antiparos? Easy Access!
Via air as Paros has it’s own airport (PAS) with direct flights to and from Athens year round; or via ferry.
Having the advantage of being located centrally in the Cyclades near Naxos, Ios, Sifnos and Syros, most ferries make a stop at Paros first.
The smaller and more laidback isle of Antiparos, 1km southwest of Paros, is easily reached from Paros by car ferry or excursion boat in less that 10 minutes. In order to make things easier for you, click here to book your hotel:
AIR
Paros has a national airport (PAS) where you can take direct flights to and from the mainland year round.
In low season, there are two flights a day, but that number increases significantly in the summer months. Both Sky Express and Olympic Air offer direct flights from Athens and Thessaloniki to Paros. Flights from Athens take about 40 minutes and flights from Thessaloniki, about 65 minutes.
Other than a few charter flights from abroad during high season, there are no direct flights to Paros from any other cities.
Flights originating outside of Greece transfer in either Athens or Thessaloniki.
Transport from the airport of Paros is done by taxi or rental car. Also check with your hotel, as many provide transport from/to the airport.
Note that flights sell out much earlier than ferries – if you find a flight that works for you, book it as soon as possible.
You can directly contact the airport for flight information via phone at +30 22840 91257.
SEA
The main Paros ferry port is in Paroikia and is connected to mainland Greece and other destinations of the Aegean.
At the port you will find car rentals, grocery stores, cafés and a few tavernas. Keep in mind that a huge number of travellers may visit Paros during the summer and the port of Parikia can be very busy. For that reason, make sure that you account for extra time to arrive/leave the port.
There is another small Paros port, near the beach of Punda. This port operates the short crossing from Paros to Antiparos with small boats that run many times per day.
Here are all the options on how to travel by ferry to Paros:
Piraeus Port (Athens) – Paros: Ferries from Piraeus to Paros run daily in summer. The duration of the trip is close to 3 hours by speedboat and around 4.5 hours by conventional ferry.
Rafina Port (Athens) – Paros: The ferry connection is served daily by conventional ferries during the summer. The trip from Rafina to Paros takes 4 to 6 hours.
Lavrio Port (Athens) – Paros: This route runs several times a week and the duration is around 7 hours.
Paros is also connected by direct ferry to Naxos, about a 30-minute trip. Ferries connecting Paros to the islands of Mykonos, Ios, Milos, Folegandros, Santorini, and Crete usually make a few stops and can take 40 minutes to 6.5 hours.
ParosAPP TIP: The ferry landing is haunted by dozens of room-hawkers, and is manic. If you arrive during a high wind and/or at night, it can all be a bit overwhelming. Know where you’re going, book ahead or turn right and head for the nearby bus terminal to the right of the ferry terminal exit for regular buses or taxis across the island. Within half an hour of the departure of the last boat things return to normal.
